FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (updated 2/25/2022)
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
A: Yes, but with some limitations. Due to the complexity of VAT taxes within the EU and the small nature of my shop, I do not offer shipping outside North America through this shop. HOWEVER! If you are located outside the US, Canada, or Mexico, and you want to place an order, I have an Etsy shop where I can make a special listing of the items you want and you can order from there. While I don't really want to use Etsy they do offer to handle the complexities of tax remittance for small businesses like mine with only minimal extra fees. It's not perfect, but I have yet to find a better solution for my shop and customers.
So if you are an international buyer who wishes to buy something and this shop doesn't offer shipping to your country, please send me an email letting me know what pieces you want, and I will create and email you a link to your special Etsy listing.
WHEN WILL MY ITEM SHIP?
A: I generally try to ship things out once a week. CURRENTLY DUE TO COVID-19 I AM NOT MAKING FREQUENT TRIPS UNNECESSARILY. I try to sent packages out in bulk to cut down on post office trips, so allow for extra time before assuming your package is late or missing. You will receive an email when I have printed out your packing slip and I will be bringing your order to the post office within a day or so after that. Please also be aware that the USPS is having severe delays so that will also affect shipping time. Please be aware of this when ordering.
DO YOU MAKE "X" DOLL OR DESIGN ANYMORE?
A: No my art and designs are all one-of-a-kind works and if I retire a design it usually means I either can’t, or no longer have an interest in making more of that. The only exceptions are if I have old casts or pieces leftover around the studio that I either find or end up finishing but that is not a guarantee of any sort. I may revisit designs but I will rarely remake an old one.
WHAT IS YOUR ART MADE OUT OF?
A: All my resin figurines and jewelry is polyurethane resin, and is hand painted with acrylic paints. I will sometimes use pigments and glosses to paint or color the resin. Terrariums and Dishware sculptures use glass dishes or vases as bases with faux plants, real shells, sand, and rocks.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE MORE OF "X"?
A: As I am a full time caregiver AND artist, I cannot churn out massive amounts of art at a time, so my shop updates are often small and infrequent. If there is a current design you have your eye on, keep an eye on my social media (specifically Instagram is where I’m currently the most active) for announcements, occasional polls, and updates. I often have to wait for other stuff to sell so that I have room in my studio to make new things so that too can influence how fast I make more of something.
DO YOU DO CUSTOMS?
A: Currently, no, I do not take custom commissions for any of my sculpture work. The only commissions I currently accept are digital illustrations or commercial illustration work, which is detailed on my Commissions & Customs page.
CONCERNING THE CHARITY DONATIONS FROM SCULPTURES & TERRARIUMS:
Going forward, 50% of all proceeds from sales of my terrariums, one-off sculptures, and upcoming wall sculpture will be donated to a rotating set of charities. I will announce which charities will currently be donated to on the shop page and social media. These will change at various times throughout the year, and will often be split between environmental, climate change, BLM, LGBTQ+, progressive, civil rights, and social justice foundations. I do as much research as I can before deciding which charity I will donate to to ensure that the funds will be used properly, and I will link to the home page of each organization for transparency. Receipts of the donations will be posted on social media also for transparency, as will announcements on when the donations will take place (as sales can be inconsistent and I want to minimize fees that might accumulate with multiple small transactions to the organizations).
